L2550 oil filter

I have used the same oil filter for my 1986 Kubota L2550 for years 70000-32091. However, my dealer said the new one for my tractor is 70000-74035. This filter is at least one inch shorter! Is this right?

They regularly bid out their filter specs on a competitive basis to various manufacturers. I guess we have to trust they know what they are doing on the inside of the filters as the outside changes. ....

Your difference that you are worried about is actually good news for you. Thru the years they have discovered newer types of median to do the filtering. It doesn't take as much and it does a better job of filtering than the original design. You didn't mention the good part, the price is lower and you are still getting a quality product! ....
